Winner 2025
At each annual Nordic conference, the Nordic World Heritage Prize;”The Rauma Award”, is also awarded out to a organizations or Nordic World Heritage Site stakeholder who has excelled in community involvement and participation.
This year the Rauma award was handed to Qeqqata municipality in Greenland and stakeholders for the outstanding efforts made at the World Heritage Site Aasivissuit – Nipisat to safeguard a living cultural landscape where nature and culture are deeply intertwined.
Through inclusive collaboration with local communities, researchers, and institutions, the site has developed innovative ways to protect, communicate, and sustain its heritage. In uncertain times where the integrity of countries is violated and World Heritage Sites is under threat, it is of utmost importance to continue to inform and make World Heritage Sites accessible to a wider public beyond national borders. Through the interpretation, coordination of interests and research we can all take part in Aasivissuit – Nipisat and gain knowledge and stay engaged - in the spirit of the World Heritage Convention.

On the final day after a successful conference in Køge the Rauma award was accepted.
