Nordic World Heritage Award

The award is donated to the Nordic World Heritage Association by Rauma Town, Finland in 2017.

It awards organisations and Nordic World Heritage site stakeholders who have excelled in community involvement and participation.

Winner 2025

The Rauma Award is at every Nordic World Heritage Conference awarded out to a organizations or Nordic World Heritage Site stakeholder who has excelled in community involvement and participation.


At the conference in Køge 2025 the award was given to Qeqqata municipality  in Greenland and stakeholders for the outstanding efforts made at the World Heritage Site Aasivissuit – Nipisat to safeguard a living cultural landscape where nature and culture are deeply intertwined.

Winner 2024

At each annual Nordic conference, the Nordic World Heritage Prize;”The Rauma Award”, is also awarded out to a organizations or Nordic World Heritage Site stakeholder who has excelled in community involvement and participation. This year the award was handed over to The Ehrensvärd Society, which has been working in the Suomenlinna World Heritage Site in Finland for 25 years with the Suomenlinna Adventure Tour for Children.

Winner 2023

The Nordic World Heritage Award 2023 has been awarded to the Rørosmuseet.  The award was presented at the annual Nordic World Heritage Conference at Kirkjubæjarklaustur in Iceland which is part of Vatnajökull national park which was nominated as a World heritage site 2019.

Winner 2022

The Nordic World Heritage Award 2022 has been awarded to the Nordic World Heritage VR-Network represented by the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland and Region Gävleborg. The award was presented at the annual Nordic World Heritage Conference at the Rjukan-Notodden World Heritage Site in Norway.
