Registration now open

We are pleased to inform you that registration for the Nordic World Heritage Conference 2026 is now open!

 

Each year, the Nordic World Heritage Sites come together for a conference dedicated to inspiration, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across the Nordic region. This year, the conference is hosted by the World Heritage Sites the Naval Port of Karlskrona and the Agricultural Landscape of Southern Öland, Sweden.


 

The conference will take place 15–16 September 2026, with optional pre and post tour activities on 14. and 17. September.

 

The theme of this year’s conference, “World Heritage and Sustainable Development” highlights concrete examples of how World Heritage Sites contribute to sustainable societal development, resilience, and long term value creation. The programme will include keynote presentations, parallel sessions, discussions, and study visits, offering opportunities for both strategic reflection and practical exchange.

 

Not least, the conference provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing networks and build new ones with colleagues from across the Nordic countries.In 2026, the Nordic World Heritage Association also celebrates its 10th anniversary, making this conference a special occasion for looking ahead and continuing to develop Nordic cooperation around World Heritage.

Practical information: The conference fee is SEK 2,500 (excluding VAT).

 

Participation in the pre tour and post tour is optional and costs SEK 900 per tour (excluding VAT). The registration deadline is 16 June.

 

However, we kindly encourage you to register as soon as possible. Please note that accommodation is not included in the conference fee.
